State Statistics Committee: Azerbaijan observes decrease in agricultural product prices

A decrease in agricultural product prices is observed in Azerbaijan in April, Chairman of the State Statistics Committee Arif Veliyev said.

"A stability in prices is observed now," he said. "Prices do not increase, but rather decrease on certain products."

According to the forecast, he said the inflation rate will be low in April.

"The figure was 9.1 percent in early 2011," he said. "I think that it will not be high."
The consumer prices and tariffs for services increased by 1.1 percent in Azerbaijan in March 2011 compared to February and by 9.1 percent in the first quarter compared to January-March 2010. The prices on food increased by 1.8 percent in March. The prices on industrial goods dropped by 0.2 percent, while tariffs on services increased by 0.3 percent.
The prices on food increased by 3.4 percent, food prices - 2.8 percent, prices on services - 3.1 percent compared to the first quarter of 2010.
