Turkmenistan, Estonia sign intergovernmental agreements

Turkmenistan and Estonia signed a package of intergovernmental agreements in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.

Agreements on cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries, as well as convention between the Turkmen and Estonian governments on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of income tax evasion were signed.

A signing ceremony was held within the Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip's visit to Ashgabat (Nov.27-28). President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov received Ansip the day before.

According to the report, during the negotiations the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

In particular, the sides expressed their mutual interest in intensifying the Turkmen-Estonian cooperation, establishing long-term contacts between ministries and departments of the two countries, as well as the business circles for their participation in major projects and programs of the Turkmen economy.

Energy, transport, tourism and trade are regarded as promising spheres of cooperation.
