Imports to Turkey increase by 36 per cent

Turkish imports have increased by 36.3 per cent to $201.581 billion during the first10 months of 2011, according to Turkish Statistical Institute report on Monday.

The report said that in the first 10 months of this year, imports of raw materials to Turkey increased by 36.8 per cent to $145.173 billion. Overall, imported goods for consumption increased by 27.8 per cent amounting to$24.926 billion. Imports of energy resources (oil, petroleum, gas and other) increased by 44.2 per cent, reaching $30.641 billion for the first 10 months of 2011.

Imports of passenger cars in Turkey increase by 39.9 per cent, amounting to $6.8 billion in January-October 2011 and those of durable goods increased by 28.8 per cent which exceeded $2.872 billion.
