Iran to build industrial city with 50 companies in Tajikistan
Iran plans to build an industrial city with 50 companies in Tajikistan, Iran.ru reported.
According to the website, the Tajik government will allocate funds for the project, which is to be iniciated on the outskirts of Dushanbe.
The negotiations on the establishment of this industrial town lasted for 1,5 years. In general, the town will consist of aluminum, cotton and fruits processing factories. The town is expected to have around 20,000 vacant job spots.
According to BBC, when the construction of the town is completed, Iranian businessmen plan to establish the export of goods to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
According to the Tajik Agency for Statistics, in 2011 the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Iran totaled about $204.1 million.
