Azerbaijan and Netherlands are keen to increase the volume of mutual trade. This was said to journalists by the Ambassador of Netherlands to Azerbaijan Arjen Uijterlinde.

"Last year Netherlands exported production to the amount of 115 million dollars to Azerbaijan. In comparison with the export to other countries this figure is small. This reflects a great potential for an increase of trade turnover in future", Uijterlinde said.

He said a considerable part of Netherlands' export to Azerbaijan consists of equipment, materials, food production and flowers.

"We haven't reached the desired level of trade turnover yet. We are keen to increase it, but that mainly depends on the business market," the ambassador said.

According to Uijterlinde, the Netherlands supports Azerbaijan's aspiration to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The ambassador noted that this would simplify cooperation with foreign companies.

"We consider it to be very important and support Azerbaijan's negotiations in this direction,"Uijterlinde said.
