Azerbaijan plans to exempt the sale of poultry, production and sale of flour and bread from value added tax (VAT) for three years starting from Jan. 1, 2017, Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov said.

He made the remarks Dec. 14 in Baku during a joint meeting of Azerbaijan’s parliamentary committees on economic affairs, industry and entrepreneurship, as well as legal policy and state building.

Mammadov said the import and sale of wheat will also be exempt from VAT for three years.

The import and sale of wheat, production and sale of flour and bread have already been exempt from VAT in Azerbaijan since January 2016.

However, the term of these benefits expires in late 2016.
