Turkmenistan aims to become Boeing's partner

The open joint-stock company “Turkmenistan Airlines” plans to completely renew its air fleet by first-class “Boeing” equipment by 2020, the Turkmenistan State News agency (TDH) reported.

Currently, 24 Boeing planes are in operation in Turkmenistan.

Over the past year, the fleet added three new Boeing NG aircraft. Ten aircraft with long lifespan, including Boeing-737-700 and Boeing-737-800 are in air readiness.

The international airport of Ashgabat can serve more than 17 million people a year or about 3,000 passengers per hour.

The report further said that the interest of foreign carriers to use airspace of Turkmenistan for transit flights and refueling of liners has significantly increased.

Within 10 months of 2017, 1,666 planes landed and refueled at the airports of Turkmenistan.
