Uzbekistan will set fixed prices for cottonseed oil for socially vulnerable layers of the population, according to the road map for the accelerated development of the country’s fat and oil industry.

The country’s Finance Ministry, Economy Ministry and Justice Ministry, Uzpahtayog JSC, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city have been charged with working out a procedure for selling cottonseed oil at a fixed price for socially vulnerable layers of the population.

The price will be formed taking into account the costs of its production and sale.

A list of socially vulnerable groups of people and organizations selling cottonseed oil at a fixed price must be also created. The road map envisages the expansion of the resource base for the production of fat and oil products.

Under the road map, vegetable oil producers will be exempt from the payment of value added tax till January 1, 2019.

The document entered into force on Jan. 20, 2018.
