Presently 15 investment companies are building 35 objects at the territory of the Khorgos International Centre of Boundary Cooperation (ICBC), the press service of Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) said in a message.
"In 2018, the ICBC plans to implement 5 projects, absorbing investments worth over 58 billion tenge. The portfolio of attracted investments presently includes the implementation of 14 projects worth 485 billion tenge until 2023," the report said.
Nearly 20 objects with an area of 400 - 30,000 square meters are expected to be constructed at the Kazakh part of the ICBC.
In the near future, the Huang Shyngys trading house and the Victoria City shopping and entertainment complex will also be opened in the ICBC, according to the message.
The decree on the creation of Khorgos - Eastern Gate free trade zone (FTZ) was signed by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the end of 2011.
The FTZ also functions in close coordination with the Altynkol station and the Western Europe-Western China highway.
