The applications for supplying Azerbaijani non-oil products worth $27.7 million in May 2018 were accepted via Azexport website (www.azexport.az), according to the Export Review, published by the country’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
Since early 2018, orders worth $250.2 million were accepted via the website, which almost twice exceeds the indicator of the same period last year.
In general, since January 1, 2017 until May 31, 2018, the applications for supplying Azerbaijani non-oil products worth $725.2 million were received from 95 countries.
Russia is leading in terms of the total volume of applications for January-May 2018. Thus, 19 percent of all applications accounts for Russia, following the US (9 percent of applications), Turkey (6.9 percent), Iran (5.5 percent) and the UK (4.5 percent).
Analysis of applications shows that the greatest number of orders in May was received for cotton, tomatoes, apples, honey, wheat flakes, motor oil, cosmetics, canned meat, fruit juices, hazelnut, decorative flowers, dairy products, carpets, mushrooms and confectionery products.
Azexport website was created in accordance with the president’s order ‘On the creation of a unified database of goods produced in Azerbaijan’ dated September 21, 2016.
The website aims at providing information on Azerbaijani goods and a favorable platform for their sale on foreign and domestic markets.
