Since early 2018, twelve projects worth $400 million have been implemented in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city, Head of the Entrepreneurship and Industrial and Innovative Development Department of the city Bakhytzhan Naurzbekov said, according to Kazakh media.

In particular, this year projects on waste sorting plant, cable production, OBI hypermarket, Moscow Shopping Center, etc. were implemented.

Head of the Kazakh Invest regional office in Almaty Zhandos Orazaliyev, in turn, said that there is a number of projects that already have specific agreements.

"We are working on 7 projects worth more than $423 million. One of the largest projects is the construction of a logistics center in the Almaty Industrial Zone," he said.

Orazaliev also noted that the DHL company will presumably build this center, which will increase the trade turnover between Europe and China as well as exports of Kazakh goods.

Moreover, he said it is planned to create a house-building plant with $25 million investment in the Industrial zone, as well as a new pharmaceutical plant with some $50 million investment.
