Turkey is interested in increasing the number of its companies in Iran, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend on Jan. 28.

An increase in the number of Turkish companies in Iran is in the interest of the two countries, TOBB said.

"An increase in the number of Turkish companies in Iran will contribute to the strengthening of trade relations between Iran and Turkey and will lead to an increase in trade turnover," TOBB said.

Ankara is also interested in an increase in the number of Iranian companies in Turkey.

"The number of Iranian companies in Turkey is growing every day," TOBB said.

In 2018 five mining companies, 57 construction companies, 462 wholesale and retail companies, 40 transport companies, five financial and insurance companies were registered in Turkey.

In December 2018, 6,400 companies and cooperatives were registered in Turkey, which is 9.41 percent less compared to December 2017. In 2018, 85,200 companies and cooperatives were registered in Turkey.
