In Turkey, the number of passengers carried by air transport decreased by 5.3 percent in January-April 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, and amounted to over 57 million people, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
In January-April 2019, the share of passenger transportation by domestic flights accounted for over 32.64 million people, which is 13 percent less compared to January-April 2018.
However, the share of external flights accounted for over 24.41 million passengers, which is 7.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
According to the ministry, in January-April 2019, Turkey’s three main airports, Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Esenboga Airport and Antalya Airport, carried a total of 20.7 million passengers.
