In Turkmenistan, the size of land plot to be sown with wheat for next year's crop will be reduced, Trend reports referring to the relevant resolution of the country's president.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan is instructed, on the basis of contracts with tenants, land users and landowners, together with the local administration, to provide sowing of wheat for 2020 crops in the established areas and to ensure the production of crops in the determined volume.

In 2020, the volume of wheat grown in Turkmenistan should reach 1.4 million tons, Trend earlier reported referring to the Agriculture Ministry of Turkmenistan.

According to the ministry, Turkmenistan plans to harvest 1.6 million tons of grains from 760,000 hectares of fields in 2019.
