Georgia increases car imports from Turkey

In January-July 2019, Georgia imported 1,646 units of passenger cars from Turkey, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The amount of the imported cars reached $39.83 million.

Compared to the same period of the last year, the import of passenger cars from Turkey increased by 692 units, or 1.72 times. For the same period last year, 954 units of vehicles worth $20.39 million were imported by Georgia from Turkey.

In the seven months of 2019, total imports to Georgia from Turkey amounted to $864 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $135 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey from January to July 2019 exceeded $999 million, which is 14.1 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

According to Geostat, Turkey remains the largest trading partner for Georgia.
