By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:

For the next year, Russian Railways will extend the discount to the tariff of 50 percent for import transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Russia in refrigerated rolling stock owned by the Uzbek Railways, Trend reports citing Russian Railways.

In particular, the statement of Russian Railways says: "Set a decreasing coefficient of 0.5 to the existing tariffs for import transportation of fruit and vegetable products in direct railway traffic from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to Russia in the refrigerated rolling stock belonging to Uzbek Railways JSC and State Unitary Enterprise" Tajik Railways".

The specified reduction factor is valid subject to the release of Russian Railways from the fee for using refrigerated rolling stock belonging to these countries involved in transportation.

It is also reported that the coefficient comes into force on January 1, 2020 and is valid for a year.

Since 2013, Russian Railways received the right in certain cases to provide allowances and discounts to the freight tariff within the corridor.

Limit levels of discounts and allowances have changed. In 2019, the upper limit of the discount remains within 50 percent, and the premium is reset to zero.
