There are plans to complete the overhaul at the Jafar Jabbarly subway station in Baku in the summer or early fall of next year, spokesperson of Baku Metro CJSC Bakhtiyar Mammadov told Trend Nov. 8.

“The work began with a major overhaul at the Shah Ismail Khatai station and in the interstation tunnels between the Shah Ismail Khatai and Jafar Jabbarly stations,” Mammadov said.

The spokesperson also noted that at the first stage, the tunnel and a part of the Shah Ismail Khatai station were closed for repairs, the second stage included the repair of the entire Shah Ismail Khatai station, as well as interstation tunnels of the Jafar Jabbarly and Shah Ismail Khatai stations.

“The main emphasis of construction work is aimed at strengthening the infrastructure damaged by corrosion and underground flows, as well as replacing old equipment with new one,” Mammadov added.

The Jafar Jabbarly station is the station of the second (green) line of the Baku Metro, located on an autonomous section from the Shah Ismail Khatai station to Jafar Jabbarly station itself, and this section consists of these two stations. Change to the 28 May station is made from the Jafar Jabbarly station.

The station has a direct underground passage to the 28 May station, near which it is located. The Jafar Jabbarly station also has its own entrance, connected with many underground corridors and passages.
