Compound feed production enterprise opens in Georgia's Kakheti region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11

Compound feed production enterprise opened In Georgia's Tsnori town of Kakheti region, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The enterprise can produce up to 80 tons of сompound feed per month.

The facility was built according to modern standards by Manana Metreveli, a beneficiary of the state Preferential Agrocredit program. A total of 900,000 lari ($293,159) was invested in the project, of which the preferential agricultural loan is 600,000 lari ($195,439), while 300,000 lari ($97.719) is the beneficiary's investments. The company employs 25 people.

Director of the Agency for the Development of Agriculture and Agriculture Ilya Tamarashvili and representative of the Kakheti region's administration Irakli Kadagishvili visited the newly opened enterprise, where they got acquainted with the production process, said the report.

“The newly opened enterprise produces compound feed for fisheries. The volume of imports of this product is significant. The enterprise, established with state support, will help substitute imports and increase local production,” Tamarashvili said.

Kakheti region is one of the largest producers of freshwater fish in Georgia, Kadagishvili said adding that local feed production is one of the determining factors for the sector development.
