Iran exports 40,000 tons of dairy products to the Eurasian Economic Union

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug. 26

The Head of Iran Veterinary Organization (IVO) announced that the country has exported 40,000 tons of milk and dairy products to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Head of Iran Veterinary Organization (IVO), Ali Safar Makanali said in a press conference, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The health-related protocols of import, export, and transit to five countries, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, have also been updated during the coronavirus outbreak,” Makanali noted.

Makanali went on to explain the IVO`s measures taken in the field of Livestock vaccination, primarily because of three-day livestock fever disease

"We are currently producing a domestic vaccine for the three-day livestock fever disease, which seems to be eradicated in the coming years,” he said.

"We have become self-sufficient in the production of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine. Currently, we have a surplus of more than 50 million doses of vaccine, part of which can be exported in the future."

He went on to say that the National Plan to Control "Newcastle Disease" (infectious viral fever affecting poultry) is another program that the country's veterinary organization has implemented in recent years.

Makanali stated that the national program to improve the quality of chicken meat is underway.
