Gold, copper ores output decreases in volume in Kazakhstan

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 37.8 million tons from January through October 2020, which is 3.2 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.2 million tons in Oct. 2020, which is 1.8 percent less than in Oct. 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 11.5 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 90.6 million tons (10.05 million tons in Oct. 2020, increase by 3.1 percent compared to the same month in 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 5.9 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 18.3 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 577,800 tons in Oct. 2020, which is 33.9 percent less in Oct. 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 20.2 million tons over the reporting period, which is 2.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in Oct. 2020 was 2.4 million tons, which is 2.1 percent more than in Oct. 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 5.1 million tons, which is 4.6 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (525,400 tons in Oct. 2020, decrease by 19 percent compared to Oct. 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 582,400 tons, which is 43.5 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (73,300 tons in Oct. 2020, decrease by 18.8 percent compared to Oct. 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 5.3 million tons, which is 8.4 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (511,800 tons in Oct. 2020, decrease by 10.9 percent compared to Oct. 2019).
