Volume of goods transported from Iran's Mazandaran province increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 9

The volume of goods transported from the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 14 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Road Maintenance & Transportation Organization in Mazandaran Province Rahmatollah Mousavi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Mousavi noted that about 13.3 million tons of goods were transported from Mazandaran Province to other provinces of Iran over the reporting period.

The official added that about 937,000 permits were issued for the transportation of goods in 8 months. This is an increase of 5 percent compared to the same period last year.

“The transported products were mainly sand, cement, corn feed, dairy products, gasoline, MDF (Medium-density fibreboard) and citrus fruits,” he said.

Mousavi emphasized that there are 132 companies operating in the area of cargo transportation in Mazandaran Province.
