TEHRAN, Iran, April 27. Iran's Chamber of
Commerce is planning to eliminate export tax exemption, Alireza
Kolahi the head of the industrial commission at Iran the Chamber,
told Trend.
"Removing tax exemption for export of upstream industry materials
and raw materials will result in some $10-billion revenue for the
government," he said.
Kolahi said the tariffs and the tax policies are the best options to maintain the domestic market, and these policies would help set the logical price for basic materials that the industries require.
"Collection of export duty can be a solution for industrial
development and improve domestic production that could be done by
consulting private sector," he said.
He went on to say that imposing a 0.5 percent tax on exported
agriculture products could provide the financial resources needed
for the reform of water transfer structures.
