BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. Iran’s Kurdistan Province in the west of the country has reached a 274 percent growth in value of imports in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, an official of Kurdistan Province Customs Office Faramarz Omidi said, Trend reports.
According to Omidi, a total of 19,000 tons of goods worth $186 million were imported to the province over the course of 6 months.
He also added that the imported products mainly consisted of production equipment, spare parts and raw materials.
The official noted that the mentioned products were mainly imported from Iraq, Spain, Germany, the UAE, Türkiye and China.
Overall, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth $30.4 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This is an increase of 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
