BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Iran's non-oil exports to Russia increased by 32 percent in value and 65.8 percent in volume for the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
As stated in the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported about 1.5 million tons of non-oil products worth over $616 million to Russia in 8 months.
Meanwhile, the figure was around 902,000 tons worth approximately $467 million in the same period last year.
The exported non-oil goods were petrochemical products, agricultural products, glassware, industrial products, etc.
Within the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran exported about 198,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $92.8 million to Russia.
In total, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).
Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.
Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
