TRACECA Countries Discuss Liquefied Gas Transportation

Transport ministers are currently discussing a project on the transportation of liquefied gas from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan via the transport corridor TRACECA, Trend reports.

At the initial stage it is planned to transport gas in cisterns by ferry trains. There are plans to consider opportunities for use of tankers to transport the liquefied gas, TRACECA stated.

The Azerbaijani State Shipping Company has set up the transportation of gas via the TRACECA route. The ferry trains, built for the delivery of liquefied gas, were equipped with additional devices.

For the first time the project was submitted to a workshop held in Istanbul, Turkey, on November 2nd and 3rd to train specialists in the delivery of dangerous cargo via the transport corridor TRACECA.

Alliance of Companies NEA (the Netherlands) and HPTE (Germany) won the render announced by the European Commission on the implementation of the project. The National Secretary for TRACECA, representatives from the Transport Ministry, state and private deliverers will represent Azerbaijan in the workshop.
