Monitoring on Reformation Health System to be Held in Sheki

Azerbaijan, Shaki / Trend corr. E.Guliyev / The Task Group implementing annual monitoring of the project of an $86mln health reformation was in Sheki on 8 August.

According to Ibrahim Rzayev, the member of the Task Group of the monitoring of the Public Finance Centre, the aim of the visit of the Task Group is monitoring of work held by the World Bank within the framework of the program of reforms in Azerbaijan's health sector between 2006 and 2012. The World Bank allocated $50mln, Azerbaijan - $26mln, the USA's Agency of development - $8mln, and the World Health Organization - $2mln.

Five regions have been selected for implementation of the project, Absheron, Sheki, Gakh, Ismayilli, and Agdash. After the monitoring held in Ismayli the Task Group went to Sheki. The next monitoring will be held in Absheron. Fuad Jafarli, the other member of the Task Group, has stated that the aim of the monitoring in Shaki is to inform the community about reforms in the health sector, as well as improvements to medical care. Monitorings will be continued until October.
