Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / In 2007 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) , operation companies (ОC) and joint ventures (JV) produced 8mln tons of oil on onshore and offshore fields in 2007, which is by 193,000 tons less ac compared to 2006, SOCAR reports.
The oil production by the Oil and Gas Production Department (OSPD) made up 7mln tons onshore and offshore in 2007, which is by 166,000 tons less as compared to 2006. Foreign companies produced 1mln ton of oil by OC and JV in 2007, which is by 27,130 less ac compared to 2006.
In 2006 the total volume of oil production made up 9bln of cu m in Azerbaijan, which is by 3bln of cu m more as compared to 2006. OC and JV produced 144mln m of gas in 2007.
The Azerbaijani International Operation Company (AIOC) produced 2bln cu m of casing-head gas on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field in 2007 for SOCAR, which is more by 84mln cu m ac compared to 2006.
There 57 oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan. Eighteen are onshore and others offshore. There are 60,000 workers in SOCAR. The table of oil and gas production in Azerbaijan in 2007:
