Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 January / corr Trend S.Aliyev, V.Sharifov / On 9 Jan, a ceremony to unload the first tanker with the Azeri Light oil was held at the Turkish port of Ceyhan, within the framework of a long-term contract on crude oil delivery between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Palmali shipping company.
The oil is shipped from the Heydar Aliyev tanker, with the deadweight of 165,000 tons. The tanker will be loaded with 1mln barrels of the Azerbaijani oil (135,000 tons). The oil is delivered via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline, with the discharge capacity of 50mln tons. The Light oil is produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields.
PALMАLI is involved in the cargo deliveries in the Mediterranean, Caspian, and the Black Sea Basin. It is the largest company involved in the transportation in the Russian internal waters, with a fleet comprising over 129, the owned and leased vessels.
