Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 August / Trend / From January to July, 2008, 6.2bln cu m of gas was handed over in Azerbaijan, including over 3.9bln cu m of gas delivered by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which produced gas through its own funds.
From January to July, the rest 2.2bln cu m was the associated gas, which is produced by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) together with oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields and the Shah Deniz field.
About 911.2mln cu m of gas was supplied to the government in July, with over 570.1mln cu m from SOCAR and 341mln cu m from AIOC and Shah Deniz.
Under the PSA contract, signed in 1994, AIOC transfers associated gas, lifted together with oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, to Azerbaijan free of charge (excluding volumes that AIOC needs for the conduct of oil and gas operations under the agreement).
