Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 November/ Trend , corr S. Aliyev/ Azerbaijan has pumped about 1,05bln cu m of gas to the gas holders so far to supply population with gas in autumn and winter of 2008 and 2009, a source in the government said.
At the moment the pumping of gas continues. Nearly 2.5mln cu of gas is pumped a day.
Over 1bln cu m of gas was planned to be pumped to Garadagh and Galmaz gas holders of Azerbaijan in 2008. Over 1bln cu m of gas were injected to the gas holder in 2007. This volume of gas was used to supply population with gas in autumn and winter of 2007 and 2008.
The gas to be pumped to gas holders is delivered by SOCAR from fields that the company develops independently. SOCAR plans to extract nearly 8bln cu m of gas in 2008. Azerbaijan will receive about 1.4bln cu m of gas from Azeri-Chiraq-Gunashli bloc of fields and 2.9bln cu m of gas from Shah Deniz gas and condensate field.
