Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 27 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/
Roughly 16-18 million cubic meters of gas is exported to Turkey from the Shah Deniz field per day. Another 1.3 million cubic meters of gas is supplied to Georgia, a source said on Feb. 27.
The remaining volume of gas used on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pumping stations goes to Azerbaijan, except 400,000 cubic meters per day.
Daily gas production on the Shah Deniz field totals 22 million cubic meters.
Gas production from the field began in December 2006. Gas is transported to Georgia and Turkey through the South Caucasus gas pipeline. Azerbaijan also buys the gas.
Over 9 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be produced during first stage of the project. The gas will be sold to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Production will be increased to 20 billion cubic meters during the second stage to commence after 2013. During the second stage gas will be exported to Europe.
