Azerbaijan, Baku, May 29 / Trend , E. Ismayilov /
Baku's system was supplied with 4.2 million cubic meters of domestic gas by PU Bakgaz (distribution and sale of gas in Baku) compared to roughly 8 million cubic meters of gas in April, a source in PU close to supplies said on May 29.
The source said: "Gas transmission will be gradually cut due to a summer reason and at present it amounts to roughly 4.2 million cubic meters per day." This figure amounted to around 6.7 million cubic meters on early May.
In January-April, roughly 1.3 billion cubic meters of domestic gas was transmitted to Baku's gas system. Baku was supplied with around 226 million cubic meters of gas compared to roughly 348 million cubic meters of gas in March.
Baku's system was supplied with 2.45 billion cubic meters of gas by PU in 2008.
PU refused from season gas supply (summer and winter seasons) in Baku's gas system in 2008. Volume of supplied gas is determined by consumers' demand. Introduction of season regime was connected with lack of gas meters among most part of population. As a result population used gas irrationally. Presently, 100 percent of users of Baku's system were provided with gas meters, a source said.
PU passed to summer regime of work from mid. of April in previous years. This regime of work envisages reduction of gas supply for users compared to winter period. Transfer to winter period was conducted from November 15. Daily gas supply hits 3-4 million cubic meters in summer but 10-13 million cubic meters in winter.
