Ekol cleans oil-contaminated areas

Ekol removed 22,000 cubic meters of oil sludge this year from the Bakahanineft Oil and Gas Production Department's industrial areas in the framework of a bioremediation project.

Ekol also transported roughly 23,000 cubic meters of land as part of the initiative.

Roughly 350 cubic meters of hay and 90 cubic meters of manure were brought to these areas to implement the bioremediation activities.

Ekol was created on March 1, 2006 to resolve environmental problems on the Absheron Peninsula. Its co-founders are the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (51 percent) and Lancer SA Services (49 percent).
