Malaysia's Petronas InternationalCorporation Ltd. (Petronas) mayreduce its stake in Uzbekistan
GTL by three times from 33.3percent to 11 percent.
It was reported that thedocuments establishing UzbekistanGTL to build a plant to produce
synthetic liquid fuels on aparity basis in Uzbekistan weresigned by the founders inNovember 2009.
Besides Petronas, the co-foundersof the joint venture with aninitial authorized capital of $
30 million, are the NationalHolding Company Uzbekneftegaz andSouth African Sasol Synfuels
International (Pty) Ltd. (Sasol).The Malaysian company hasnotified the Uzbekistan GTL co-
founders about its plans toreduce the stake in the JV.
