Oil and gas companies purchase goods and services worth $180 billion in Kazakhstan in 2012

In 2012, oil and gas companies purchased goods and services worth 2.7 trillion Tenge (about $180 billion) in Kazakhstan, Director of Kazakh Content Analysis Department of the JSC "Kazakhstan Contract Agency" Aslan Tapalov told Trend.

"In 2012, all oil and gas companies operating in Kazakhstan purchased goods and services worth 2.7 trillion Tenge, which is about $180 billion," Tapalov said.

He said 51 percent of this amount account for the purchase of goods and services by Kazakh companies.

"In 2012, the share of Kazakh content in total purchases of goods and services was 11 percent," Tapalov added.

According to Tapalov's forecasts, the cost of oil and gas market goods and services will continue to grow in Kazakhstan with the transition of many major projects from the phase of the exploration to the phase of oil production, as well as with the development of new oil and gas fields in the next five or six years.

"There is a trend of growth of the cost of the Kazakh market of goods and services by about 10 percent a year," he said.
