Kazakhstan, Astana, Sept. 18 / Trend D. Mukhtarov /
Russian Gazprom and Kazakh KazTransGas will work on gas supply for gas pipeline to Astana, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin told journalists on Wednesday.
"At the level of inter-governmental commissions of Russia and Kazakhstan it was ordered to Gazprom and KazTransGas to consider jointly issues of supply for gas pipeline to Astana. In addition, the companies must determine the sources of raw materials, the scope and conditions of supply. We also consider the option of inter substitution," the minister said.
He reminded that designing the Kartali-Astana pipeline is already completed and negotiations started with Russia on Russian gas supplies for Kazakh capital across the Tobol river from the border in Kostanai region.
"But currently we took time out in the negotiations for some time," Karabalin said.
The Minister also reminded that Kazakh President previously raised the issue of the construction of the gas pipeline to Astana.
