Power plants of the Azerenergy JSC, Azerbaijan’s main electricity producer, generated 12.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January-July 2016 as compared to 13.4 billion kilowatt hours generated in the same period of 2015, said Azerenergy in a message Aug. 2.
The message said also that Azerenergy's power plants produced about 1.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in July 2016.
In 2015, Azerenergy produced more than 22.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity as compared to about 22.7 billion kilowatt hours generated in 2014.
Meanwhile, generation capacity of Azerbaijan's power system grew by 30 percent over the past five years.
