Oil refining increases in Kazakhstan

Oil refining volumes of Kazakhstan refineries increased by 1.8 percent during 1H2019 compared to 1H2018 and amounted to 6.670 million tons in line with domestic supply obligations for oil producers, Trend reports with reference to the data of the Kazakhstan’s National Company KazMunaiGas.

Some 2.699 million tons of the volume were refined at the Atyrau Refinery (increase by 3.6 percent), 2.475 million tons at the Pavlodar Refinery (down by 11.1 percent), 1.315 million tons at the Shymkent Refinery (up by 35.2 percent) and some 181,000 tons at Caspi Bitum (down by three percent)

“Refining at KMG International refineries increased by 1.4 percent year-on-year to 3.328 million tons. Thus, Petromidia refining (Romania) volumes were up 1.4 percent amounting to 3.126 million tons and Vega refining (Romania) volumes were up four percent to standing at 202,000 tons,” the report said.

According to the report, during 1H2019 refining depths at Kazakh refineries changed from 73.8 percent to 73.5 percent at Atyrau refinery, increased from 84.1 percent to 84.7 percent at Pavlodar refinery and increased from 77 percent to 81.3 percent at Shymkent refinery, compared to 1H2018.

“Oil products production increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year to 9.360 million tons. The production at Kazakhstan refineries increased by 1.9 percent year-on-year to 6.105 million tons, including 1.530 million tons of gasoline (decrease by 0.8 percent), 1.985 million tons of diesel (up by six percent), 231,000 tons of jet fuel (up by 224.6 percent), 2.359 million tons of other oil products (down by 5.9 percent),” the report said.

Oil products production at KMG International refineries increased by 1.2 percent year-on-year to 3.255 million tons, including 802,000 tons of gasoline (down five percent), 1.437 million tons of diesel fuel (up by 1.2 percent), 200,000 tons of jet fuel (up by 34.4 percent), 816,000 tons of other oil products (up by 1.4 percent).
