Kyrgyzstan to suspend supplying electricity to Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan plans to suspend the supply of electricity to Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Kyrgyz media.

Kyrgyzstan intends to save electricity due to the winter heating season.

In preparation for the autumn-winter period, electricity was cut off in 45 mining companies in Kyrgyzstan, as was announced at a government meeting by Head of the National Energy Holding Aitmamat Nazarov.

The current value of the export of electricity from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan is two cents.

As previously reported, on behalf of the Kyrgyz government, energy export to Uzbekistan began on June 16, 2017. At the end of August of 2017, exports amounted to 825 million kilowatt hours.
