From January to August 2005 Azerbaijan imported 101,653,4 tons of metallic pipes or 61.6% less as compared 2004 to carry out operations on onshore and offshore fields, the State Statistics Committee told Trend .
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and foreign companies are engaged in oil and gas operations.
From January to August 2005 50,862,8 tons of pipes fell to import of pipes for oil and gas pipelines or 74.3% less as compared 2004. The State Statistics Committee noted that Azerbaijan purchased 21,763,600 tons drilling pipes or 5.6% less as compared 2004. The total value of the import comprised $29,855,100 or 0.8% less as compared 2004.
