Due to the transfer to the autumn-winter period and the reduction in the rivers filling, Georgi`s capability to return its power debt to Azerbaijan has significantly reduced. The debt is most likely to be returned in the spring of the next year, when the Inguri Hydroelectric Power Station works on its full capacity, Azerenergy JSC told Trend today.

Today, the remaining volume of the power debt to Azerbaijan is estimated at 10 m. KWt/hour of power. It will be returned as soon as Georgia can solve problems on its energy generating capacities.

Earlier the Georgian party commenced returning the power debt to Azerbaijan. Up to date, Georgia has returned about 10 m. KWt/hour out of the total debt of 20 m. KWt/hour of power.

The debt has remained since the time when Azerbaijan supplied Georgia with energy in 1990s.
