SOCAR and International Bank of Azerbaijan Transferred Finances to Georgian Government for Acquisition of Two Buildings

The Government of Georgia allocated building and land parcel in Tbilisi for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and International Bank of Azerbaijan. The Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Georgia, Kakha Damenia, informed Trend Special Correspondent in Tbilisi that the amount for the building and land parcel has been transferred to the budget of Georgia.

SOCAR received a building and 4,178 square meters of land parcel and paid off $3 mln for it. SOCAR intends, in the near future, to open a network of petrol filling stations in Georgia.

The International Bank of Azerbaijan has purchased a real estate with 1,398 square meters of land parcel in the center of Tbilisi and paid off $4 mln. The Azerbaijani bank intends to allocate serious investments to Georgia and begin granting credits for the development of the Georgian economy and banking sector.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Zurab Nogaideli, welcomed the participation of the Azerbaijan bank in the Georgian market.

According to Damenia, after the transfer of the amount, the Azerbaijan companies will begin activities at the end of January.
