SOCAR Exported Over 2 Mln. Tons of Oil

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ From January 2007 until April 2007, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported over 2.2 mln. tons of oil in different directions, a source in the SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations says.

In the reporting period, via the Northern Route of the Baku-Novorossiysk Pipeline, SOCAR exported 183.400 tons of oil. In April, the State Oil Company sold 62.000 of oil to Trader Glencore through a tender from the Russian Black Sea Port of Novorossiysk. The sold oil consignment had been shipped from the Russian Port on April 24-25, but then the shipment was postponed until May 2007.

In the reporting period, via the Western Pipeline of Baku-Supsa, Azerbaijani oil was not carried at all due to carrying repair works on the afore-mentioned pipe.

160.594 tons of SOCAR oil was carried in the direction of the Georgian Black Sea Port of Batumi by rail, in the reporting period.

Between January and April 2007, 1.874.507 tons of SOCAR oil were piped via the main Export Pipeline of BTC (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline).
