Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produces record volumes of gas on the offshore field of Guneshli. Presently 11mln cu m of gas is produced on the field per day, compared to 6.9mln cu m last year, a source in SOCAR said. It was made possible through the realization of SOCAR's new gas program. Within the program, SOCAR transferred ten oil wells to the gas horizons having the largest productivity. In addition, seven high-production wells have been drilled. Each of the wells produces 200-450,000 cu m of gas per day. Presently there are thirty-one gas fields on Guneshli field. Nearly twenty-three new wells with daily production of 250-300,000 cu m are planned to be drilled on the field over the next two years.
