Loans to entrepreneurs increased in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 29

Entrepreneurs were granted loans in the amount of 37.3 million manat ($21.9 million) in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan from January through September of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of the state statistics Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to the data, this is 1.7 million manat ($987,058) or 1.8 times more than in the same period last year.

Of the loans granted, 16.3 million manat ($9.6 million) were spent on creating or expanding new production areas, and 20.8 million manat ($12.2 million) were spent on developing private entrepreneurship. This is more than in the same period last year by 96.2 percent and 72.7 percent, respectively.

During this period, 29 legal entities and 1,908 individuals were registered. Although the number of registered legal entities remained unchanged compared to the same period last year, the number of individuals decreased by 973 units or 33.8 percent.
