BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 35.6 percent, in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran.

The statistics show that families spent an average of 35.6 percent more on some products and services in the 1st month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The monthly inflation on food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 43.4 percent in the first month, while in the non-food and services sector was 31.3 percent, according to the statistics.

Within the 1st month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 35.2 percent. This is 0.7 percent more than in the same month last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 37.2 percent for the 1st month. This is an increase of 1.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 1st month increased by 2 percent, compared to the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022).

Whereas, the annual inflation rate in the country (April 20, 2021, through April 20, 2022) was 39.2 percent. This is a decrease of 1 percent compared to the previous period (April 19, 2020, through April 19, 2021).

At the end of the 1st month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 38.7 percent in Iranian, while - 41.6 percent in villages. This shows a decrease of 1 percent in cities and 1.2 percent in villages, compared to the previous period.
