Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / According to forecasts by the Government the number of mobile subscribers will reach 5.2mln in 2008.
In 2009 the number may increase to 5.9mln, in 2010 - to 6.2mln and in 2011 - to 6.8mln.
Today the number of mobile users in Azerbaijan exceeds 4mln. Three GSM operators function in Azerbaijan. Azercell Telecom possess the largest share in the Azerbaijani market, the number of subscribers is 2.8mln, then Bakcell - over 700,000 and Azerfon - over 100,000 subscribers.
According to calculations by the Government the total volume of revenue from the communication sector may amount to AZN 467.1mln in 2008, AZN 551.1mln in 2009, AZN 633.8mln in 2010 and AZN 728.8mln in 2011.
