Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 March / corr. Trend S. Babayeva/ The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan have appealed the government to assist them in purchasing the licensed software, the Ministry said on 6 March.
" Azerbaijan is expected to install licensed software in the state bodies- within the strategic agreement on cooperation with Microsoft," the Ministry said.
The Ministry deems it expedient for the government to allocate funds for the purchase of the licensed software, as it can cost cheaper.
"The government has not made any decisions in this regard yet," the Ministry said.
The signing of the agreement, on strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Microsoft, was discussed in the World Economic Forum in Davos by Ilham Aliyev-the President of Azerbaijan and Krage Mandi-the director on strategy of Microsoft.
The agreement envisaged the protection of intellectual property in Azerbaijan, legalization of software and realization of investment projects of Microsoft in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has already submitted its proposal regarding the agreement and is waiting for the feedback of Microsoft.
The Microsoft Azerbaijan (the representation of Corporation in Azerbaijan) has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2005.
