Declaration and BSEC ICT plan of actions to be approved within BakuTel-2009 exhibition

A declaration and BSEC ICT plan of actions will be approved within Azerbaijani international BakuTel-2009 exhibition as a result of the meeting of BSEC communication ministers till May 2010, the Communication and IT Ministry said. 

According to the ministry, the sides will discuss increase of effectiveness and expansion of cooperation within BSEC in telecommunication and IT during the meeting.

Azerbaijan was BSEC chairman from May to October. Bulgaria got authority of chairmanship within the meeting of foreign ministers held in Baku on October 22.

A declaration on the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was signed by heads of states and governments from 11 countries of the region in Istanbul in 1992. About 12 countries, including Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Serbia are BSEC members.

Attractiveness of BSEC as the international organization increases. It is testified by the fact that at present, Austria, Germany, Egypt, Israel, Poland, Italy, Slovakia, France, Tunis, Belorussia, Croatia, the USA, Czechia and the European energy charter conference have a status of BSEC observer.
