One computer fells to 19 students in Nakhchivan

One computer fells to 19 pupils in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), the NAR Communications and IT Ministry reported.

At present 73.9 percent of personal computers used in the NAR educational institutions are vconnected to the Internet.

The total number of personal computers in the NAR general educational institutions is 2,674 units. One computer fells to 26 students in the whole republic.

The Azerbaijani Education Ministry launched the next phase of the computerization of secondary schools of Azerbaijan in early May.

The ministry intends to reach secondary schools located in the regions by late 2010.

The country will spend 16 million manat for the computerization of schools in 2010. The works are realized under the state program on informatization of the education system of Azerbaijan in 2008-2012.

The main objective of the project is to create a unified educational information environment to improve the quality of education using IT and integration into the global system of education.
